We all use this word to describe many things. But in the machinery business it can spell trouble. Here in Florida, we are especially vulnerable to heat. As a Southern State we don’t go through the rigors of ice and snow, but we have hurricanes and tropical storms to contend with and lately flooding. There is no doubt in my mind that the climate is changing and not for the better. When it rains now, we accumulate about 12 inches of water in our rear parking lot and it has no place to go. This problem may not be as obvious right now, but with time it will only get worse. Perhaps we may be able to look for a solution then, however, with machinery and especially air compressors, the problems should be handled now. Thus, it all should begin with clear air flow so the compressor gets outside air to help maintain a healthy temperature. Certainly the machines should be filled with a good grade of compressor oil and a regular schedule of oil changes established. So many times we have been called for a compressor shut down only to find a low oil condition. We can establish a maintenance schedule and our system will advise when you are due for service to help prevent shutdown nightmares. In addition, we suggest bigger size of refrigerated air dryers. Keep in mind that economizing now may in future years give major problems and may not continue to keep water out of your system.
